Who is the narrator?
Illustration
In an age where information is abundant yet highly curated, this series explores the profound question: Who controls the narrative? Each artwork seeks to challenge our perceptions of truth, authority, and the power of storytelling. Created for the course Navigating Influence, this triptych reflects my journey through the heart of New York City’s museums and galleries, where I found myself not only admiring the artistry but questioning the perspectives behind it. Every piece of art, photograph, and exhibit told a story, yet whose story was it, and why was it being told in that particular way?

As I stood before countless works, I began to question not just the art but the very notion of the narrator. Would I have depicted that moment the same way? Whose perspective was I seeing? This internal dialogue shaped the foundation of these artworks, designed to provoke viewers to think critically about the voices they trust, the stories they consume, and the hidden biases that shape their world.
